I watched Chungking Express on a date with a guy from Hong Kong a few months ago. Obviously, there are a few things that don't translate well from Cantonese to English subtitles, but there were some tender and funny parts that I enjoyed. Overall, I wanted to like it more, but it didn't really move me. Maybe the amount of times the movie plays California Dreamin' had something to do with that.
