01/10/2025: First entry of 2025!

Wow! First entry of 2025 and it's already October. Whoopsie. I'm also still in the middle of fixing all the old diary entries so they fit this new page, so for now you'll just have to enjoy this ONE entry. Bummer. To compensate, I've taken a bunch of photos on an old camera for you guys. Enjoy!

These are from the Japan House in Kensington, London!

I guess it might be the first time for some of you visiting this webpage, so I'll do a brief introduction (my favourite things and starsign are on my "About Me!" page): Hi, I'm "Tsubaki" and I'm a Psychology student from London. I just came back from an exchange year in The Netherlands, which was definitely the closest I've ever gotten to real "student life". I'm originally from Greater London but moved to the city to study when I was 18. I don't particularly like it but I've lived here for the past 2-and-a-half years. I was recently offered a job as a cocktail waitress and my first shift starts tomorrow (scary) but I've worked in hospitality, mostly as a waitress, since I first moved into the city.

Right now it's about midnight so this entry will be pretty short. Some days I really want to write something but somedays I don't; today is the latter. I just needed to update this page because for the past week I've said to myself "I really want to write in my online diary" but haven't because the old page's layout doesn't do it for me anymore. What can I say? My university term has finally started and this'll be my final year. I'm taking a module in forensic psychology this term, so that's exciting. I've always like it the most out of any other module I've been taught. I used to go to forensic psychology lectures in my host university even though I couldn't take the module. It was just fun. This term I'm only taking 3 electives (and I think 1 module relating to my dissertation) so I actually have a lot of free time (Wednesday-Friday) I could probably use but most likely won't lol.

I'm really tired... I'll probably write more some other time. Thanks for reading!

This is getting kind of silly isn't it?
23/07/2026: Watching Paris, Texas in the Prince Charles Cinema

Does what it says on the tin. Today I was supposed to go to therapy but when I finally showed up and spoke to therapist, she quickly realised I wasn't a corpo drone and was concerned about whether the free sessions offered by some company would extend to myself. I told her we'd figure it out. So no therapy today, just drinking. I stopped by a bar someone I knew works at, then my workplace, and then I went to see Paris, Texas at the Prince Charles Cinema in Chinatown. I fell asleep for about 30 minutes midway through but it was a very good movie. Some people cried. I'm really glad it ended on Travis parting ways with Jane and Hunter. Travis was clearly an abusive drunk who marred Jane's life, so I'm glad the movie didn't try to patch things up between them. I wasn't planning on seeing a movie but one of the guys who works at the first bar I visited mentioned it. Why not, right?

One thing I noticed was that the movie has lots in common with No More Heroes. Both the movie and game(s) are set in a desert, focus on a guy named Travis as he hunts down his past, and involve a blonde French woman; I did also think that Travis, or at least his actor, resembles Doctor Peace from the first No More Heroes.
